Fox Elementary report says cause of blaze is ‘undetermined’

The cause of a February fire that partially destroyed William Fox Elementary School has been deemed “undetermined,” according to a 31-page report released to VPM News by The Richmond Fire Department late Friday. But the Fox report also asserted that “analysis of the evidence and information revealed was sufficient to support that the fire was the result of an unintentional act.”
Polystyrene ban gets pushed back to 2028

Virginia legislators have pushed back a statewide commitment to ban polystyrene foam to-go containers by five years. The move comes after several restaurants fought to delay the ban amid a rise in to-go orders due to the pandemic.
Secret aid society of Black women recognized with marker in Norfolk

In the wake of the Civil War, two former slaves founded a secret society for Black women. It cared for the sick, elderly and destitute. Last week, a new historical marker recognizing the group was unveiled in Norfolk.
