Virginians go to the polls Tuesday to cast ballots for their representative in the U.S. House. The Democratic and Republican parties both nominated candidates in each of the state's 11 congressional districts, and two — the 2nd and 7th districts — are considered highly competitive.

Polls open for voting at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Anyone in line by 7 p.m. has the right to vote. An ID — or signed ID confirmation statement — is required, though a provisional ballot can also be requested. Voters must cast their ballots at their assigned polling place.

Election officials will begin to report results after the polls close, though it could be days before final results are known and results aren't certified for several weeks.
