Early voting for the June primary runs through June 15.

This year’s primary elections are slated for June 18.

Richmond’s Office of Elections announced changes to polling sites ahead of the upcoming June primary. Voters who are affected by the changes should receive a letter in the mail that includes updated information.

Polling places have been changed for the upcoming election due to outside factors, like summer school or building renovations, according to a social media post by the elections board.

Two precincts have had their locations changed for both the June primary and the November general election. But other changes will only impact people voting in-person on Election Day in June at seven precincts throughout the city.

Early voting began May 3.

The following precincts are affected:

  • Precinct 105: People who usually vote at Mary Munford Elementary School will vote at the First Presbyterian Church on Cary Street Road due to summer school classes.
  • Precinct 308: Those who usually vote at Linwood Holton Elementary School will instead vote at Legacy at Imperial Village Apartments due to summer school classes.
  • Precinct 409: People who usually vote at J.B. Fisher Elementary School will vote at Christ the King Lutheran Church on West Huguenot Road due to summer school classes.
  • Precinct 410: Those who usually vote at Huguenot High School will instead vote at Southampton Elementary School due to summer school classes.
  • Precinct 606: People who usually vote at Hotchkiss Community Center will vote at Overby Sheppard Elementary School. This change is in effect for both the June primary and November general election, due to building renovations.
  • Precinct 705: Those who usually vote at Henry Marsh Elementary School will vote at Main Street Station due to summer school classes.
  • Precinct 810: People who previously cast ballots at Liberation Church will instead vote at the Metropolitan African American Baptist Church on Warwick Road for both the June primary and November general election.
  • Precinct 908: Those who usually vote at Miles Jones Elementary will be voting at Elizabeth Redd Elementary School due to summer school classes.
  • Precinct 911: People who usually vote at the Community Building on Old Whitehead Road will vote at GH Reid Elementary.

Early voting for the June primary runs through June 15. People who have requested absentee ballots should have received them through the mail. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Friday. Those ballots must be returned through the mail and postmarked by June 18 to be counted.
While the deadline to register has passed, same-day registration is possible by requesting a provisional ballot at a polling location.
