We caught up with Victoria Bass five years after her original appearance on From the Top. Now 22, Victoria graduated from Rice University in Texas and is currently a member of the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble.
"It's going really well," she reports. "We're doing a recording this summer, and it's been so much fun."
She credits her appearance on From the Top -- specifically her role in bringing to life a composition written by another young performer on the show --- to sparking her interest in new music.
"It was such a great experience to be involved in the process of that," she says. "When I got back to Interlochen, I started hanging out with composers and asking them to write pieces for me, and it just exploded and I couldn't get enough!"
