Four years ago, three young, African-American men promised to help each other beat the odds and make it through med school. Today, the three men are doctors, and they have made a new pact: to reconnect with their fathers, and forgive them.
Their new book, The Bond, details the doctors' experiences growing up without father figures and their persisting belief in the bond between father and son.
