Summer Cocktail Recipes

Gin Rickey (makes one serving)

2 oz. Old Tom Gin or Plymouth Gin

Half of lime, juice and shell

4 oz. sparkling mineral water or club soda

Squeeze half of a lime into a highball or wine glass, and drop in the shell. Add gin and ice, followed by sparkling mineral water or club soda.

Stir and serve.

Orgeat Lemonade (makes one serving)

2 oz. Orgeat syrup*

1 oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice (approximately one lemon)

2 tsp. of powdered sugar

Mint sprig

Add orgeat syrup, lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar to shaker. Fill with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into wine glass over crushed ice. Add mint sprig and dust with additional teaspoon of powdered sugar.

Serve.

Strawberry Daiquiri (makes one serving)

1 or 2 strawberries

1 oz. sugar cane syrup

3/4 oz. lime juice (approximately one lime)

1.5 oz. white rum

Add sliced strawberries, sugar cane, lime juice and white rum to shaker. Fill with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with a piece of strawberry.

Serve.
