A new medical device could change how we diagnose autoimmune disorders

Instead of blood samples and biopsies, what if we could create a diagnostic lab inside the body? Immunoengineer Aaron Morris is developing an implantable device that can monitor health and disease.

About Aaron Morris

Aaron Morris runs a lab within the department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. His research focuses on creating an early-warning system for autoimmune disorders, organ transplant rejection and cancer. Before beginning this work as a postdoctoral fellow at Michigan, he earned his PhD from Yale University. At Yale, Morris used genetic engineering and controlled drug delivery to develop better materials for medical devices.
