Russian figure skaters "and other fellow citizens" were on board the passenger plane that crashed in D.C., Russia's state news agency TASS reports.
It had previously reported that eight skaters and four coaches were "preliminary believed" to have been on board.
"We see, unfortunately, that this sad information is confirmed," Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters, according to TASS. "Our other compatriots were also there. Bad news from Washington today."
