The Basics Preschool Nature Trail

Playing in nature helps build a healthy brain! From birth, young brains develop like muscles, getting bigger and stronger the more you interact together.

The Basics Preschool Nature Trail, located at the lower level of Booker T. Washington Park in Charlottesville, Virginia, was created by VPM and Wildrock to give families and caregivers an opportunity to enjoy and apply The Basics Principles in nature together.

Visit the signs next to the benches along the trail and explore The Basics Principles — five fun, simple, and powerful ways to help all children learn — along with suggested related activities to try out at the park.

If you don’t live near Booker T. Washington Park, apply The Basics Principals and activities at a park, playground or in a yard in your community!
