New Season of Charlottesville Inside-Out Premieres January 10

Charlottesville Inside-Out

Season 12 of Charlottesville Inside-Out (CVIO) premieres January 10, 2019 at 8:30 p.m. on WHTJ/WCVE/WVPT PBS. With host Terri Allard, the show will continue to highlight some of the region’s most unique people and places.

Over the course of 12 episodes, Allard and her crew will introduce viewers to a diverse list of local guests and organizations, including a couple who started a wildlife conservation center to help save animals from around the world, an author and architect who explores Virginia ruins, and a UVA professor who teaches philosophy, sociology, history, and music through his Hip Hop class.

The show will also profile several area nonprofit organizations whose work includes protecting the Rivanna River, focusing on the health and well-being of children, and providing support services to area refugees and special immigrant visa holders.

“I love working on CVIO because I thoroughly enjoy getting to know people and finding out why they do what they do,” says Allard. “Our show guests are always very passionate about their work, mission, or project. This season's first episode, for example, features fiddler Lovell Coleman, who just celebrated his 95th birthday and his 90th year performing in our community. He recently fell and bruised his shoulder. He was supposed to take a break from his fiddle, but his wife Edith said he still picked it up and played it every day. And well-known and respected nature photographer, Robert Llewellyn, has made it his mission to figure out how everything in the world works. These are just two examples of community members who help to make this area such a vibrant, interesting, and culturally rich place to live and explore. And there are so many more!”

Watch CVIO on WHTJ/WCVE/WVPT PBS on Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.; on WVPT PBS on Saturdays at 1:00 p.m.; and on WHTJ/WCVE PBS on Sundays at 12:30 p.m.
