In its premiere season, “The Art Scene” offers an inside look at some of the region’s most interesting theatres, galleries, studios, concert halls, and arts education groups. The program is hosted by actor Haliya Roberts with segment hosts Bianca Bryan, Douglas “Roscoe B” Powell, and Noah Scalin. A co-production of VPM and 19RED.

Take a glimpse inside the Oval Office and discover the pillars and strategies of American post-Cold War diplomacy on “The Art of Statecraft: President George H.W. Bush’s Foreign Policy Team.” When Bush 41 assumed the American Presidency in 1989, much of the world was in turmoil, and it was clear that American diplomacy was entering a new era. “The Art of Statecraft” features captivating archival footage and revealing interviews with members of Bush 41’s foreign policy team, including James Baker, Dick Cheney, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, and others. Detailed, first-person accounts of major world events — the Panama invasion, Tiananmen Square, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and the Persian Gulf War — provide a glimpse into one of the most fascinating foreign policy presidencies of the modern era. A co-production of VPM and the University of Virginia’s Miller Center.
