Governor Glenn Youngkin is a political newcomer, entering politics after a career in private equity. As a young basketball player, Youngkin credits his time on the court for shaping his outlook as a leader, “you have to have a great team,” says Youngkin, “and bring your ‘A' game every single time.”
According to Youngkin, he ran for governor because of a call to serve. Political pundits said it was his stance on education issues that propelled him to win the election. While education was a major platform, Youngkin also says funding law enforcement and our behavioral health system, as well as job creation are among his priorities.
