Country Music: A Film By Ken Burns explores the origins of a uniquely American art form. 


Country Music focuses on biographies of fascinating trailblazers who created and shaped it, including the Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers, Bill Monroe, Bob Wills, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, Charley Pride, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Garth Brooks and many more.


The film follows the evolution of country music through the 20th century as it becomes America’s music.


This 8 part series begins Sunday, September 15 at 8 p.m. on WCVE/WVPT/WHTJ PBS.
