Are you interested in hearing from each of the five mayoral candidates in the City of Richmond? VPM is partnering with 12 On Your Side and Chamber RVA to bring audiences live coverage of the Richmond Mayoral Forum. The event will allow Richmond residents to hear directly from the candidates in an effort to best inform them ahead of the November elections.
The one-hour debate will be hosted at VPM’s studios in Chesterfield County on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. The live broadcast will be available on VPM PBS and VPM 88.9 on the radio. The forum will be livestreamed on VPM’s YouTube Channel and by 12 On Your Side. VPM’s Angie Miles and 12 On Your Side’s Curt Autry will serve as moderators.
VPM News is covering the mayoral race and recently published a report on whether the candidates would support Black reparations and a report on how some voters feel about their options for Richmond mayor. VPM News is also providing resources to communities leading up to the 2024 elections, including a voter guide and a breakdown of what’s at stake in this year’s elections. VPM has also brought back The People’s Agenda for the 2024 elections, which solicits feedback and questions from audience members so that VPM can tailor its election coverage to what Virginians are most curious about.

Beginning on Oct. 2, RGI will publish a weekly interview with each of the five candidates through Oct. 30.
