Artsline - Starting the Year off Right with Local Stories, History, and Art!

Taste of Art
From the VMFA's new exhibit, A View from Home: Landscapes of Virginia.

Artsline: Virtual Edition || January 4, 2021

“A book is the only place in which you can examine a fragile thought without breaking it, or explore an explosive idea without fear it will go off in your face. It is one of the few havens remaining where a [person’s] mind can get both provocation and privacy.” ~Edward P. Morgan

At the start of any new year, personal and communal introspection is fairly common. This year is no exception - except that last year was entirely uncommon. Arts & culture offerings this week reflect our need to review our history, to peek into the dark places we have been, and to settle into a soft cushion with a good book. And for those who choose a different path - there are twinkle lights and a new dance to learn!
