These creamy and rich truffles are delicious any time of year. The recipe pairs well with Virginia Red Dessert Wine from Rappahannock Cellars and appears in this full episode of “ Un-Wine’d,” which airs Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. on VPM PBS.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 lb chocolate chips
  • 14 ounce can sweetened, condensed milk

  • 1 stick butter
  • Microwave-safe bowl

Directions

Step 1: Place all ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 2 minutes on high in the microwave. Then stir.

Step 2: If chocolate is not fully melted, heat in 15-second intervals until all ingredients can be fully incorporated.

Step 3: Stir well until the mixture is smooth and shiny. Let it cool and then scoop by teaspoons into small balls.

Step 4: Roll each ball and finish as you desire with chopped pecans, confectioner’s sugar, cocoa powder, dipping chocolate, sprinkles, etc.

Makes approximately 24 truffles.
