How to make a tasty black bean burger patty

This is such a great vegetarian recipe. Black beans are filled with protein and this Vidal Blanc really blends so well with the beans and the spice in this dish. With the salsa, this main dish is perfect for a fun weeknight meal and makes a fun addition to a buffet!

What You’ll Need:

Black Bean Burger Patty:

  • 2 - 14.5 ounce cans black beans, mashed
  • 2 T. minced red onion
  • 2 T. minced red bell pepper
  • ½ minced jalapeno pepper
  • 1 t. ground cumin
  • ½ t. ancho chili powder
  • ½ c. dried bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten

Salsa:

  • 2 T. minced red onion
  • 2 T. minced red bell pepper
  • ½ minced jalapeno pepper
  • 1 c. fresh or frozen (thawed) corn kernels
  • 1 c. fresh chopped tomatoes
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • ¼ c. olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Step 1: With the ingredients for the patties, mix, Form into four patties. Bake at 350 degrees for 22 minutes

Step 2: Mix the salsa together and serve each black bean patty with salsa.
