Artsline - Celebrate Juneteenth with local festivals, history and art!

juneteenth-poster-2-cropped.jpg
Louisa County Historical Society offers their Juneteeth Freedom Festival in celebration of the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. See details below.

“Ours is not the struggle of one day, one week or one year. Ours is not the struggle of one judicial appointment or presidential term. Ours is the struggle of a lifetime, or maybe even many lifetimes, and each one of us in every generation must do our part.” ~ John Lewis

This week, Richmond and its surrounding counties celebrate freedom for Juneteenth – as well as the continuing struggle to keep liberty within our grasp. You will find local Juneteenth celebrations, conversations, and visual art representing one artist’s interpretation of historical Black experiences. Deepen your experience of freedom, its meaning and its cost, by joining in the fantastic offerings in your own community!
