What You’ll Need:
- 6 Fresh Sausages (Beef or Pork)
- 2 T. butter or vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- ½ t. salt
- 6 thick slices of soft white bread
- German Mustard
- Spicy Ketchup, optional
Directions:
Step 1: In a sauté pan, heat the butter or oil over medium-low heat and add the onions and salt. Sauté the onions, sweating through slowly to slightly caramelize. Move the onions to a plate, hold warm, and add the sausages to the pan. Cook the sausages until completely cooked through.
Step 2: Lay out the bread on a platter and top each bread, diagonally, with a sausage. Top with onions then drizzle with German mustard, and spicy ketchup, if desired. Serve immediately.
