VCU is celebrating the sixth anniversary of its annual Global Summer Institute of Music, a 12-day intensive program that is specifically tailored to talented young pianists and instrumentalists who are curious about being exposed to a unique hybrid of Eastern and Western cultural learning. Students take part in daily music lessons, master classes, workshops and concerts.
The program is directed by Yin Zheng, who serves as Director of Keyboard Studies and Associate Professor of Piano at VCU. She stopped by our WCVE Music studios to discuss the festival's history and this year's highlights. Performances are free to attend and you can check out the schedule HERE.
