Local pianist & harpsichordist Joanne Kong will be performing with guest artist Lisa Terry in Perkinson Hall at the University of Richmond this Wednesday evening (4/13) at 7:30pm.  The duo has been acclaimed throughout the country for their specialty in Baroque performance practice and are regular artists at the Winter Park Bach Festival.  This program will feature original works for viola da gamba and keyboard from the last four centuries, including pieces by J.S. Bach, Telemann, Chwatal and Susan Matsui.  Joanne will also play several Preludes and Fugues from Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier Book I, in honor of the work's 300th anniversary.

The concert is free, but tickets are required and can be reserved HERE.  Listen in as I discuss the upcoming performance with Joanne and Lisa, and Lisa demonstrates the unique sound of the viola da gamba.

Yours in good music,
Mike Goldberg Classical Host, VPM Music
