Throughout her life, Amber Ellis has turned to the James River for comfort and inspiration. Whether seeking a spot in nature to clear her head, or trying to find more meaning in her work, the river has flowed through Amber’s world as a guide every step of the way.

As the Restoration Director for the James River Association, Amber also holds a certificate in ecotherapy. She shares how she channels her love of the River into connecting others through our natural spaces in ways that not only improve our River’s health, but our own.

Listen to Stories by the James, Fridays at 6:44 a.m. and 8:44 a.m. during NPR's Morning Edition and at 4:44 p.m. during NPR's All Things Considered on VPM News (88.9 WCVE).
