Celebrate Halloween on John’s Porch!

BING BONG…

My doorbell rings many times on Halloween night. I live in an area that has many small children and I hand our full-sized candy bars – and other suitable non chocolate things for children with allergies – so my house is a popular stop. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday and I have always gone full out to celebrate.

I’m bringing that celebration to John’s Porch on Sunday, October 30th, from 10:00 until noon on VPM Music and inviting you and all your friends to join me.

Since I can’t hand out candy bars through the airwaves, I will have to treat you with two hours of great seasonal music!

And I have a lot to share.

There will be a lot of music that you will immediately recognize and a few that are more obscure, but I think the two hours of fun I’ve planned will put you in the mood to be ready for the ghosties, ghoulies, and long-legged beasties that will be stopping by your door the next day.

Who will I feature?

There’s Mike Oldfield and Buck Owens – maybe the first time those two are paired together. Bessie Smith and Blue Öyster Cult – now there’s a tag team – Warren Zevon and Oingo Boingo and so many others.

The music is good and the company will be better so I hope you can make it to the show. There’s plenty of room on the porch, just pull up a chair and join in the fun.

If you haven’t discovered John’s Porch yet, I hope you will check us out one Sunday morning. We play an eclectic mix of blues, country, bluegrass, rhythm & blues, mix of blues, country, bluegrass, rhythm & blues, zydeco, folk, and other genres that will make you happy.

I hope you will join me this Sunday, October 30th, from 10:00 to noon, on John’s Porch. We would love to have you over for company. You can find us on one of these great VPM Stations: 93.1 and 107.3 VPM-Music and 88.9 HD2, Richmond, and streaming online at VPM.org.
