I hope you will join me for John’s Porch this Saturday and Sunday, March 18th and 19th, from ten until noon as I’ve got some nice goodies prepared for you! The weather has been a little all over the place lately, and probably will continue for a little while longer, but here on the porch the sun is shining, the temperature is perfect, and the music is first rate.
  • It’s another busy weekend ahead on John’s Porch and I hope you will take some time to join me as I have a number of surprises for you.

  • I hope you will join me for John’s Porch this Saturday and Sunday from ten until noon as we have a couple of great shows I’m excited to share with you. There’s our usual mixed bag of fun with blues, country, Americana, bluegrass, rock and all sorts of music to put a smile on your face and start your toes a-tapping.
  • We’ll have an extended version of “Virginia Corner” and sample three songs from soul artists from the Old Dominion who got distributed on independent labels. We’ve also got some singer-songwriters in a set that includes the Lonesome River Band, Susan Greenbaum, and Mark Daniel.
  • I hope you will join me for John’s Porch this Saturday and Sunday – January 7th and 8th – from ten until noon as I’ve got some great music for you each day.
  • I hope you will join me for John's Porch this Sunday morning, December 18th, from 10:00 until noon, as we flip the script for the day. Usually for the first hour I like to play themed songs and then go to a free for all format in the second hour.
  • I hope you will join me for John’s Porch this Sunday morning, December 11th, from 10:00 until noon as we explore the world of angels in song. From literal angels to sweethearts, angels have long held a fascination for songwriters and singers and we’re going to sample some of those works. We’ll have music from Jimmy Dawkins, Sharon Lewis, Otis Rush, Robert Plant, JD Wilkes, Susan Tedeschi and more.
  • I hope you will join me this Sunday, December 4, from 10:00 until noon as we experience the latest installment of John’s Porch. I’m leaving behind the themes this week and just going with great music from a variety of artists.
  • I hope you will join me for John’s Porch this Sunday morning, November 27th, from ten until noon as we take a day of leisure from the themes and just listen to artists that I’m grateful to play. Thanksgiving is such a great holiday – arguing across the dinner table while eating amazing food.
  • I sincerely hope you will join me this Sunday morning, November 20th, from 10:00 until noon on John’s Porch as we examine music for the soul. I firmly believe that all music emanates from the soul, but more obviously with certain songs. The first hour is chock full of those songs and I’ve got several that I think you’re going to enjoy.
  • I hope you will join me this Sunday morning, November 6 from ten until noon for the latest edition of John’s Porch. I have a lot of fun works ready for you as we celebrate the birthday of a person whose invention changed the sounds of classical music, jazz, rhythm and blues, blues, and rock and roll.
  • There will be a lot of music that you will immediately recognize and a few that are more obscure, but I think the two hours of fun I’ve planned will put you in the mood to be ready for the ghosties, ghoulies, and long-legged beasties that will be stopping by your door the next day.
  • This week on John’s Porch, we’re going to investigate this elusive and demanding part of all our lives. We have timely songs in the first hour from Ray Cardwell, Colin Hay, Becky Buller, Jimmy Dawkins with Otis Rush, Whitney Shay and more. We’ll have the time of our lives listening to this hour of great music.
  • I hope you will join me on John’s Porch this Sunday, September 11, from 10:00 until noon, as we pay tribute to The River in music. There’s a primal force at work with the mighty rivers, and there is something magical about the smaller ones that has attracted artists of all types since the beginning of humankind.
  • We’ve got a busy Labor Day Weekend here on John’s Porch! We’ll be in our usual Sunday morning slot from 10:00 until noon, and we’ll also take over the airwaves on Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00, in place of Annie Parnell’s Weekday Jazz Program! I certainly hope you can join me on one or both occasions as each show is unique.
  • This week, we’re taking a trip to paradise. I have several songs that deal with that elusive state of being. There’s some good time R&B. I had a couple of comments about the R&B songs I played last week, so here are some more. Let me know if you like them.
