No frills, just great music on John's Porch

guitar close up
I’m leaving behind the themes this week and just going with great music.

I hope you will join me this Sunday, December 4, from 10:00 until noon as we experience the latest installment of John’s Porch. I’m leaving behind the themes this week and just going with great music from a variety of artists.

There’s a lot to enjoy this week.

Heck, in the first set alone, there’s music from two of The Travelling Wilburys plus a certified musical genius who has been entertaining audiences since he was about 12 years old. I “wonder” who that could be.

For the rest of that first hour, we’ve got songs from Van Morrison, Dave Alvin, Nikki Lane, Bat For Lashes, and The Wood Brothers. Plus, we’ve got new music from Billy Strings, JR Williams, and Theo & Brenna.

Hour two kicks off with favorites from Paul Simon, The Spinners, and Nick Lowe.

Then there are sides from Blood, Sweat & Tears, Lyle Lovett, Nanci Griffith, The Boneshakers, James Taylor, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Lorrie Morgan. Plus, local artist The J.O.B. and a NOVA artist, Lauren Calve, who is preparing to perform at the Tin Pan this month.

For those of you who haven’t visited John’s Porch yet, I hope you will check us out one Sunday morning. We play an eclectic mix of blues, country, bluegrass, rhythm & blues, mix of blues, country, bluegrass, rhythm & blues, zydeco, folk, and other genres that will make you happy.

I hope you will join me this Sunday, November 27th, from 10:00 to noon, on John’s Porch. We would love to have you over for company. You can find us on one of these great VPM Stations: 93.1 and 107.3 VPM-Music and 88.9 HD2, Richmond, and streaming online at VPM.org.
