A chat with composer Anna Clyne
British composer Anna Clyne is one of the most in-demand composers today, working with orchestras, choreographers, filmmakers, and visual artists around the world.
I was very excited to have the opportunity to sit down and talk with Anna, as I find her music very enjoyable and entertaining. She combines traditional melody and harmony with newer techniques such as electronics, sometimes crossing unstated boundaries between genres. Our Richmond audience recently had the opportunity to hear her work titled "DANCE," commissioned and performed by cellist Inbal Segev.
In this chat with Anna from late 2020, we focused on the album "Mythologies," which features five of her prominent orchestral works going back to 2005.
