To call Matt Lively a Pony Pasture enthusiast would be an understatement. A Richmond-based artist, perhaps best know for his famous “bee-cycle” murals, he paints many other subjects including his favorite river spot, Pony Pasture.
He shares how he first became enamored by the river as a teenager, how this came full circle for him when his daughter was a teenager, and how he continues to nurture his relationship with the river today by leading an outdoor painting group that finds their inspiration on the banks of the James.
