Rosette plays the music of Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate

Rosette

The locally-based string quartet Rosette is continuing their "So Hot Right Now" series that features the music of living composers. This month's concerts highlight the works of Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate. His music focuses on the development of American Indian classical composition.

I talked with violinist Ellen Cockerham Riccio and cellist Steph Barrett about Jerod's background and music. An alumnus of the Cleveland Institute of Music, he's a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation in Oklahoma. Rosette has been presenting a program of his music in various venues around Metro Richmond this month. Their final performance will be at the Westover Hills Library on Monday evening, October 30th at 6:30 P.M. All are invited to attend this free concert!

Yours in good music,
