The Thirteen, an ensemble based in Washington, DC, will be in Richmond this Thursday evening, February 8th to perform British composer Jody Talbot's "Path of Miracles." The concert will be held at 7:30pm in All Saints Episcopal Church.
Talbot's work takes the listener on a musical journey of the mystical Camino de Santiago de Compostela. The pace of a spiritual Camino is built into the structure of the work, with the four movements of the work titled after the four main posts along the Camino.
Founder and Artistic Director Matthew Robertson shared more about the work with me, including the incorporation of medieval texts in various languages and the use of visuals.
