Virginia Opera returns to the Carpenter Theatre this weekend with their production of "Sanctuary Road" based on the writings of William Still, conductor of the Underground Railroad who helped nearly 800 enslaved African Americans escape to freedom. The music is by Paul Moravec, with a libretto by Mark Campbell.
