The Virginia Arts Festival’s 27th season is showcasing renowned artists in dazzling performances of dance, theater, and music that ranges from classical to jazz, rock, opera, Americana, Broadway, and beyond. Classical highlights include Grammy Award-winner Chris Thile performing his new work for mandolin with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra and an evening featuring the music of Jessie Montgomery, who just began a two-year residency with the festival. Pianist Olga Kern heads up the chamber music concerts, which will welcome the Takács Quartet, cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han, as well as Apollo's Fire, one of the world's most acclaimed early music ensembles.
