Supply drive fills 35,000 backpacks for Richmond-area students

Virginia Commonwealth University alumnus Timmy Nguyen organized the first Ultimate Backpack Supply Drive in 2017 to provide free supplies to Richmond Public Schools students. In seven years, more than 112,000 students across the Richmond area have been helped through the drive, and it’s become the largest school supply drive in the country.
Marijuana justice could be a step toward reparations in Virginia

As the movements for Black reparations and cannabis justice slowly gain ground nationally, advocates in Virginia say it’s high time for the commonwealth to begin addressing the historic harms inflicted on Black and brown communities through marijuana criminalization.
