This edition of JAMinc Presents finds us in the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University to relive a magical night in celebration of the glory days of Motown and other related rhythm & blues tunes recorded back in February of 2024. The occasion was the release of the VCU Jazz album Remember the Future, that featured the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, the Jazz Faculty/Alumni Septet, the VCU Jazz Orchestra and the VCU Choral Arts Society. This ambitious undertaking was led by trumpeter Taylor Barnett, who follows such notables as Doug Richards and Antonio Garcia as director of the nationally renowned VCU Jazz program.
