Saxophonist Miguel Zenon and pianist Luis Perdomo’s Grammy award-winning collaboration El Arte Del Bolero Volumes 1 and 2 considers the connections between jazz and bolero, a genre of love song with deep roots in Latin America.
Both artists joined Annie Parnell for a live pre-concert talk at the Modlin Center for the Arts to discuss the project and the shared cultural influences on jazz and bolero.
Originally recorded in November, this pre-concert talk is being shared as part of Jazz Weeknights’ celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month.
