Reams Road Elementary’s 50 year old building will be demolished in the next 2 weeks to make way for the new facility.
“Thankfully the county looked at the bigger picture and decided to make it a true rebuild.”
That’s Principal Jodi Seitz. She says Reams students moved into temporary trailers at nearby A.M. Davis while construction takes place.
School Board Chair Rob Thompson says it was ambitious to try and fit so many school renovations and rebuilds using the 2013 Bond Referendum.
“It just proves that our construction management team and maintenance have been a fantastic fiscal steward.”
Thompson says each new school project has finished on time and under budget. And he adds that there’s one more in the works.
“The next one that we’ll break ground on is Magnolia Green and that was done outside of the Bond Referendum.”
The new Reams Elementary is set to open in Fall of 2021
