A campus wide community meeting is happening tonight at the University of Richmond to address recent racist graffiti.
Last weekend, university police found ethnic slurs written below the dorm room name tags of students of color.
International student Hijab Fatima says that she hopes students will feel heard.
“For them to share their concerns, cause I think that in the midst of all that is happening, I think that a lot of people have a lot of things on their chests.”
Fatima, along with student Lina Tori Jan, organized an anti-racism rally and open-mic that drew over 100 people on Tuesday.
In a statement earlier this week, University President Ronald Crutcher said the meeting tonight was organized to get more perspectives on how to handle acts of bigotry and hate.
