Fewer and fewer candidates are granting interviews with media outlets to talk about their platforms. They’re also declining to debate their opponents.

Republican Yesli Vega, who is challenging Rep. Abigail Spangberger (D-7th), recently declined an invitation to debate her opponent at the University of Mary Washington. And Rep. Donald McEachin (D-4th) said he would not participate in a series of two debates with his Republican opponent, Leon Benjamin, unless Benjamin gives up his claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.
