Author Gail Morin's latest book, “The Magical Adventures of Detective Sam” helps teach kids to break the cycle of violence and fend off bullies with strong body language, confidence and keeping a cool head.

“The best thing is just 'talk to your kids.'”

Children’s book author Gail Morin offers tools for young kids to identify and respond to bullying. The Virginia author’s latest book, The Magical Adventures of Detective Sam, helps teach kids to break the cycle of violence and fend off bullies with strong body language, confidence and keeping a cool head.

“The best thing is just talk to your kids,” Morin said. “Try to make that conversation open. Let them know if there’s anything going on at school or outside school that you’re there for them. This book has opened up so many conversations for parents, teachers, to the children ... ”
