Multimedia Journalist Shaban was born in a Tanzanian refugee camp and grew up in Roanoke, where he fell in love with photography.

Features Editor Whitney studied journalism and political theory at Morehead State University, where she was also a student reporter at WMKY. Before coming to VPM News in 2018, she worked for KCPW and KUER in Salt Lake City, covering politics, government, criminal justice, housing and more.

Hanover and Henrico Reporter Prior to joining VPM News, Lyndon was part of several award-winning news organizations, including the Richmond Times-Dispatch, The Virginian-Pilot and The Progress-Index. Outside of journalism, he enjoys biking, reading and the occasional chess match.

Associate Producer Before joining VPM, Adam reported on local events and news as an independent journalist for VCU's Robertson School of Media & Culture and Capital News Service. Adam has produced news for multiple platforms covering various topics, including healthcare, technology, higher education and the Virginia General Assembly.

State Politics Reporter Jahd covers the General Assembly. Previously, he covered state government for RadioIQ and was a freelance journalist based in Egypt.

News Operations Manager Elijah previously worked in TV News Production at WTVR CBS 6 as a Technical Director where he was responsible for executing multiple live-news broadcasts every weekday morning. Elijah is known around Richmond for being a passionate advocate for the Virginia music scene and founded HearRVA.

Host and Environment/Energy Reporter Patrick began his career as a VPM News intern in 2019 and has covered pipelines, urban heat islands, the electric grid and more. You can find him biking in Bryan Park, petting neighborhood cats or listening to live music.

Morning Radio Host Phil is the local anchor for news from around Central Virginia during Morning Edition.

Multimedia Journalist and City of Richmond Reporter Keyris is a bilingual multimedia journalist and is passionate about covering stories that impact underserved and underrepresented communities. Before VPM, Keyris worked as a digital content reporter and producer at WRIC ABC 8News. Keyris has covered immigration, COVID-19 and civil rights issues, among other breaking news stories in Richmond.

Video Editor Adrienne is a multimedia journalist who has focused her reporting on the intersection of history, public affairs and politics. Before joining VPM, Adrienne worked as a producer and video journalist at C-SPAN in Washington, D.C. and prior to that she worked in local newsrooms in Hartford, CT and Des Moines, Iowa. McGibbon has covered presidential elections since 2004, and the federal response to Hurricane Katrina and COVID-19.

Assistant News Editor Sean previously covered a variety of issues in the Richmond area through a data-driven lens for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Prior to the RTD, Sean was part of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists’ reporting team for the 2021 “Pandora Papers” investigation and hosted ICIJ’s “Meet the Investigators” podcast.

General Assignment Reporter Dean covers everything from court cases, state and local issues and more. He previously worked for WRIC-TV, reporting, leading digital election coverage and overseeing digital content.

News Editor Meghin is a Penn State graduate with a background in broadcast and digital journalism. Previously, she worked at The Daily Progress in Charlottesville.

Early Childhood and Higher Education Reporter Megan was a 2020-21 reporting fellow with ProPublica's Local Reporting Network and a 2019-20 reporting fellow with the Education Writers Association. Megan previously worked for NPR affiliate WDDE in Wilmington, Delaware, and freelanced for NPR affiliate WAMU in Washington, D.C. She's also reported for NPR, Marketplace, The Atlantic, The Hechinger Report and more.

Multimedia Journalist and Chesterfield County Reporter Billy has decades of journalism experience in television, radio and print. Before joining VPM he worked as an MMJ for TV news outlets in Montreal, Canada and for newspapers in Mexico, Miami and the Caribbean. He's a member of the National Press Photographers Association, a former trainer with Journalists for Human Rights and a Canadian citizen. Shields was born and raised in Richmond and began his career as a cub reporter for the Tidewater Review in West Point.

Afternoon Radio Host Kim can be heard on air during All Things Considered. She had worked in radio for more than eight years, including as a music host on WRIR for more than four years and as producer for a morning sports radio show.
