U.N. Ambassador John Bolton Resigns

A little more than a year after President Bush appointed him America's Ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton says that he will step down when his tenure expires in a few weeks. The White House made the announcement today.

Bolton was a temporary appointment made by the President in August 2005, but his nomination has languished in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, unable to win confirmation.
