Watch: Concussions--Myth vs. Reality

In this Virginia Currents feature, find out what's new and what's mistakenly thought of as true when it comes to concussions. We talk with Dr. Gunnar Brolinson, Chair of Sports Medicine at Virginia Tech and VT Team Physician at the VT Helmet Lab in Blacksburg, VA.

The VT Helmet Lab is known for it's innovative testing and studies on athletes and concussions. Currently, they are testing female and male VT Rugby team members to find out why female athletes suffer more concussions and prolonged symptoms than their male counterparts.

This feature story appears in a Virginia Currents episode airing on December 26th at 8:00 p.m. and December 28th at 5:30 p.m. on VPM PBS. Be sure to catch up on Virginia Currents anytime.
