Chicken Tikki Masala

Un-Wine'd host Tassie Pippert shows viewers how to prepare a flavor-packed Chicken Tikki Masala dish. With golden chicken swimming in a rich and creamy curry sauce, this recipe is one you will want to try at home for yourself.


  • 1 c yogurt
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Black pepper
  • ½ t. cayenne pepper
  • ½ t. cinnamon
  • ½ t. cumin
  • 1 T. grated gingerroot
  • 6 deboned chicken breasts or 10 deboned chicken thighs
  • 3 T. butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper with seeds, finely minced
  • 1 T. paprika
  • ½ t. cumin
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 c. heavy whipping cream
  • 6 cups cooked rice
  • ½ c. chopped cilantro

Place yogurt, lemon juice, black pepper, cayenne, cinnamon, cumin and ginger root in a plastic bag. Add chicken, rub marinade through all chicken pieces, seal the bag, and marinate at least an hour or overnight. Grill the chicken until done, Set aside.

In a saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic and jalapeno then add paprika, cumin and tomato sauce. Add heavy cream and stir through. Adjust seasonings to suit your taste.

Chicken in cubes. Place rice on six individual plates and top with chicken. Distribute sauce among the plates. Top with cilantro.

Serves 6.
