VPM Partners with Educators to Create Engaging Content for VPM Classroom

family watching TV

VPM is pleased to introduce you to  VPM Classroom and to a group of dedicated and talented teachers who have worked tirelessly to create television content that will keep students in grades 4- 10 engaged in learning over the summer.

Each program being featured on VPM Classroom was created and filmed by educators from their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Several of the shows incorporate segments previously produced by NASA, Future of America's Past, and partner PBS stations.  The educators in each program reinforce this content while also correlating with Virginia Standards of Learning.  One of the main goals of VPM  Classroom is to use the power of our TV broadcast to provide high quality instruction for students and families who do not have access to the internet.

Using easy to find materials around the house, many programs encourage fun hands-on science, expressive art projects, and activities that help flex children's mental muscles by analyzing poetry, re-examining American History, and exploring visual and cultural arts.

VPM Classroom features classroom content in Science, Space, the Arts, American History, and English. Each program is sure to educate, entertain and inspire your children to learn more about the world around them.

VPM Classroom airs each weekday starting at 1:00 on VPM Plus

Tune in to watch or stream anytime at vpm.org/classroom.
