7. EXPERIENTIAL LECTURES FROM EXODUS: SCHOOL OF EXPRESSION

This summer, six Richmond-based artists participated in Exodus: School of Expression’s Seed Summer Residency. Artists-in-residence participated in artist-led workshops centered on Afro-futurism, internal archives, speculative practices, sonics, and visual languages. Join the Institute for Contemporary Art for a culminating salon that centers around the premise of eco-systems in relation to community. Works, process materials, and individual practices will be shared through presentation and discussion. Capacity is limited, so please register for this free event.
8. CHILLIN' AT UNITY: HYMNS AND HEARTSONGS

Unity Church of Bon Air brings Dr. Theresa Steward to use music to soothe, heal, comfort, encourage, and uplift. This program tells a story of spiritual music that has provided peace and solace, comfort and care, joy and gratitude over the last year and a half in the lives of the faith community of Grace Baptist Church in Richmond and beyond. Some are soothing arrangements of beloved hymn tunes, and others are heartsongs or familiar pieces that provide peace or a burst of joy in much needed moments in our lives.
