In Your Ear Episode 40: The Church Sisters

Church Sisters
Church Sisters

Sarah and Savannah Church were born twenty minutes apart, almost twenty years ago in Norton in far southwest Virginia. They grew up singing around the house and later, naturally, in church and for community events until it became clear that they had something truly special…that undeniable blood harmony. They’ve spent the last few years perfecting their singular gift and touring with one of the most tasteful bunch of young instrumentalists on the circuit today, including Spencer Strickland on mandolin, Josh Pickett on guitar, Jacob Eller on bass and Rusty Grubbs on percussion. The net result is pure magic and it’s clear that these two are destined for significant and successful careers in this music they love. We quickly sold out our originally scheduled Studio A concert on November 13 of 2015 and were able to set a second show the night before that also sold out. This program features highlights from the Friday night show. JAMinc is proud to present the Church Sisters.

In Your Ear offers a chance to discover new artists and appreciate the “in the moment” creativity, inspiration and soul of live music. Studio A is a “great room,” a haven for artists with intimate, friendly and informed audiences and peerless audio fidelity. Host Tim Timberlake and In Your Ear studio president Carlos Chafin produce the programs, which feature three acts, reflecting the diversity and range of these special concerts. The eclectic selections cover many genres -- including bluegrass, jazz, blues, old time, Celtic, gospel and singer-songwriters of many styles. Artists range from superior local and regional talents, to premier acts from all over the country.

Production Funding of In Your Ear is made possible, in part, by... the Dean Foundation, presenting the Old Dominion Barn Dance, Digital Video Group, Infinity Financial Partners, Threshold Counsel, PC and Will and Molly Perkinson. Artist accommodations courtesy of the Hilton Garden Inn and the Hampton Inn West.
