Whether swimming as a child, or encouraging a paddling newbie as an outfitter owner, Ashley Noble has never known a world without the James River. Raised on the water from a very young age, she now runs her family’s business, James River Reeling and Rafting.

Ashley shares how the river has been a constant source of inspiration and connection in her life. From witnessing her child’s delight while kayaking, to seeing a customer experience the river for the first time, Ashley reminds us how the river provides us joy, adventure, and growth - and how it is our role to protect it.
