Henry Cook and I hope you will join us for Time For The Blues this Saturday night, February 4th, at 9:00 as we celebrate our 400th Show! That’s right, the little show that nobody thought would last longer than six weeks has made it to 400 shows. Henry and I know the reason we’ve been able to make it this far is the fact that you seem to enjoy the music and are willing to suffer through our bad jokes to hear it.

Our jokes aren’t really bad, they’re just misunderstood.

Together, we’ve made it to this milestone and we thank you for sticking with us. We’ve put together a great show for you this weekend to celebrate, and we hope you will like up what we’re serving. We start things off with a selection from our friend Janiva Magness before sliding into a couple of great hits from a recent Alligator collection.

Henry’s put together some examples of things we’ve done on other milestone shows and I think you’re going to enjoy these tracks. We’ve got The James Cotton Band, Muddy Waters, Killing Floor, The Tedeschi Trucks Band, James Brown, Downchild, and Charlie Musselwhite among others.

As you can see, we’re all over the place, but there’s nothing new about that. We love bringing you the diverse blues artists that you hear on a weekly basis.

All in all, it’s a great show and we would love to have you join us for the fun if you care to join us at 9:00 this Saturday night. That’s February 4th, and you can find us on one of these great VPM Stations: 89.1 WCNV, Heathsville; 90.1 WMVE, Chase City; and the flagships, 93.1 and 107.3 VPM-Music and 88.9 HD2, Richmond, and online at VPM.org where it’s always Time For The Blues!
