Cheryl Groce-Wright is a true pillar of the Richmond community and the founder of Kaleidoscope Collaborative RVA. Treasured by many Richmond runners in her role as the Head Coach of Sports Backers’ Half Marathon Training Team, she shares how her relationship with the river has evolved over time as a runner, a coach, and a river enthusiast.
Cheryl also describes her commitment to educating others on the river’s critical role in African American history, the importance of every Richmonder knowing this history, and how this history has shaped where we are today.
