A bipartisan House of Delegates bill to define surveillance technology and study how law enforcement agencies in Virginia are using it is before the state Senate after stalling in the House.

Vashti Harrison wins Caldecott Medal

The Caldecott Medal recognizes the “most distinguished American picture book for children” in a given year. 2024’s winner is Big by author and illustrator Vashti Harrison, who grew up on Virginia’s Eastern Shore and graduated from the University of Virginia.
