She was a teenage runaway. She had an incestuous, alcoholic father. She loved women. She died for her right to wear men’s clothing. She was defiant, irreverent, more clever than her judges, unrepentant, and unfailingly true to her own visions. In "The Second Coming of Joan of Arc", Joan returns to share her experiences with the highest levels of church, state, and military, and unmasks the brutal misogyny behind male institutions. Bring the kids and a lawn chair or blanket to the lawn of the Walkerton Tavern at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen for weekly interactive, family-friendly shows in October! This week, enjoy a juggling and magic show by Jonathan the Juggler. Following the performance, Jonathan will teach everyone how to juggle! Social distancing is required. No reservations required. Admission is free.
4. VISARTS 7TH ANNUAL CHILI THROWDOWN

At The Visual Arts Center of Richmond’s Chili Throwdown local potters throw handmade bowls and mugs for guests to browse and buy. All proceeds benefit VisArts. With social-distancing in mind, book a 30-minute time slot and select a handmade, ceramic bowl or mug stuffed with chili recipes from local restaurants. Beer will be available to purchase and enjoy while you’re shopping. Additional bowls/mugs will also be available for purchase in person and online. Our talented clay teachers are busy making bowls + mugs for the event!

The Richmond Chapter of the American Guild of Organists presents the debut of Robert McCormick for the 2020-21 Organ Repertoire Recital Series. His program includes works by Alfred Hollins, Jehan Alain, J.S. Bach, Joel Martinson, Clara Schumann, Calvin Hampton, David Hurd, and Marcel Dupré. Masks and ADVANCE RESERVATIONS are required. The recital will also be live-streamed on the St. Bridget Catholic Church’s website.
